PHOTOGRAPHY: MAHKOTA MEDICAL CENTRE |
 Interior design firm DB&B recently commissioned a set of photographs documenting their ID work for Mahkota Medical Centre way down in Melaka. The brief was to present the areas renovated by DB&B in the most flattering light, on photographs. We were to present the client with a set of 50 photos, from which they would select 30.
There were six areas that needed to be photographed, and we left KL assured that the job would take the better part of the day to complete, and so rued the lack of time to take in the famous Gula Malaka Cendol on Jonker Street. But being consummate professionals, we took that moral blow without a shedding a tear.
Upon arriving at the location, we took a quick tour around the aforementioned six areas before setting up our lights and camera. As usual, the fluorescent house lights with its blue-green hue presented a tricky lighting condition, especially when the large windows let in uncontrollable amounts of sunlight. Our solution: we white-balanced the camera to the house lights, and created a copy of each picture in post-processing that was white-balanced to sunlight. Put the layers on top of each other, and masked out the areas that had different colour temperature light.
Low resolution preview copies were sent to the client for selection. Final output of the 30 selected photos was in 3872x2592 px, 300dpi JPEG format. Here are some of our shots. Click on the thumbnails to view the full picture.
