SELANGOR CULTURE COVE
Our prior involvement in the Malaysia Truly Asia campaign put us in good stead to produce Selangor Culture Cove (SCC)'s new marketing video.

But first, we needed to know the subject matter. A quick chat with the client enlightened us: Selangor Culture Cove is a new tourist destination located next to Batu Caves. It targets international tourists by offering cultural performances, traditional massage and spa treatment, a small chocolate factory where visitors can actually make their own chocolate treats, an herb and spice farm, and much more.

Our task was to present SCC and its manifold attractions to an international audience. Based on the client's requirements and budget, we quickly formulated a screenplay that was not unlike Tourism Malaysia's fabulous 'Malaysia Truly Asia” campaign, with actors in shimmering traditional clothes, lush greens, captivating textures, all captured with cameras flowing subtly on tracks or jib arms.

Since our audience will be from diverse nationalities, we needed to make the video multi-lingual. A few phone calls later and we had a team of Chinese, Malay, Japanese and Arabic translators working to convert the original English language script into their respective languages. Four different voiceover talents were also recruited for each language version.

For the visuals, we integrated some stock footage from our library with two days' worth of shooting on location at SCC. All the elements were then put together in post-production, over a soundtrack of traditional Malay music.
