Making ketcup is not as easy as merely filling glass bottles with the ubiquitous red relish. A lot of thought goes into marketing, packaging, branding, promotion...

Heinz was a strategic cold-call that paid off. Heinz products were slow on the take-up due to lack of awareness and branding efforts. However, they wanted to change all that, one product at a time. To start off with, they looked towards their TK-Plus Ketchup for kids to generate the hype. We designed the print ad for them for insertion in Kuntum, a children's magazine. The ad was colorful and playful - very child-oriented. Heinz went on to use this during their promotional campaign with Chicken Little, the animated movie.

The people at Heinz liked the fresh colors so much they asked us to design a template for their website. We then came up with a design that was mother-friendly, with relevant product and baby development info, and of course, lots of cute baby pics. We used mainly pastel shades with occassional mix of vibrant colors to liven up the site and make it appear contemporary.

The next project we worked on was for Sinsin, a subsidiary of Heinz. Sinsin, based in Singapore, is a manufacturer of sauces mainly for local and regional consumption. We designed a POS attachable card for their Sinsin soy sauce bottles. The cards include recipes containing the various types of Sinsin soy sauce, an annual calendar and list of public holidays. The icing on the 'cake' - the cards are attached by golden strings to each bottle of Sinsin soy sauce.
